A thing that can really ruin your day is the PS3 Flashing Yellow Light. I want to show you what you can do to get rid of this problem fast and permanently on your Playstation 3 console.
- Follow These Easy Steps to Stop the PS3 Flashing Yellow Light
As crazy as it may seem, simply turning your console off and back on can sometimes rid you of the PlayStation 3 yellow light error. Do this first - If that doesn’t work and you still have a yellow light flashing on your PS3, then unhook all the cords. Plug them back in now and try it again.
- Another trick to use, if the above 2 don’t work is to try cleaning all the dust off your PS3 and make sure it has room to breath. Overheating can cause flashing yellow lights.
- The final thing to do if the tips above don’t help is to disconnect your hard drive for about 15 minutes or so and let the PS3 “reset”. After that, hook it back up and try it again.
Now these tips are great and work half the time. But if your PlayStation 3 is one of those that doesn’t want to cooperate, then you are going to have to actually get it repaired. There are 2 ways to do this…
Way 1 – Let Sony Fix Your PS3 Flashing Yellow Light Problem
This is by far the most common way to get rid of the blinking light on your system. That’s because it’s pretty easy to just ship your system off to Sony and be done with it. There are a few problems, though, and it would be bad if you did this and didn’t know about them. Some of those problems are that it can sometimes take weeks or even months to get your PlayStation 3 back when you send it in for repair for blinking yellow lights. Another fact is that if your warranty is expired you are going to have to pay Sony to fix it and it’s not cheap. I’m talking $130 or more!
Way 2 – Fix PS3 Flashing Yellow Light At Home By Yourself
Before we go any further, let me recommend that you don’t do this unless you have a repair guide are have taken a Sony PlayStation 3 apart before. Anyway, this method involves disassembling your PS3 and fixing the flashing light error right at home. It can usually be done with some common tools and you won’t have to pay for any extra parts or Sony’s repair service. As you can see, I think it’s a better deal to fix PlayStation 3 yourself, but it’s all up to you!
